I'm training for a 50K in September.
Planning to be car camping at Pictured Rocks in early August.
I want to stick to my training schedule, and am thinking of some possible trail running routes inside the Pictured Rocks National Park system.

Has anyone ever done this?

Have not run, but have done some backpacking. The north country trail traverses the shoreline and there is available car camping inside park grounds near the shoreline where you can easily access the trail. It would be easy to do a long run out and back in either direction just following the NCT. Visit the national park service website to get camping information...during the summer you would want to make reservations early to secure a spot on the campground. Running on the NCT would be primarily all near the shore which provide spectacular views.

Hope this helps
