My training has been going very well. But resently my right big toe becomes swollen, stiff, and sore after runs of an hour or more. I ice and stretch but it seems to be just a band aid. I have a big run in march and Im afraid the lack of training time and distance is going to hurt me. any advice on fixing my wheel> Thanks

Hi Philman

You could try cycling to help with cardio/endurance training

good luck

Thank you for your advice. I have been cycling and using various cardio machines in the gym. it does seem to help....but running is the only thing that will scratch my itch! Ive decided not to run any at all until the first of the year. I want to make sure Im 100% before I hit the trail. I cant afford any more set backs. Thanks again. happy trails

Have you had a good sports oriented chiro or physio or massage person look at it? Likely more going on there that could easily be solved with some hands on work and maintenance.
