Hi Nattie. You must of had a better time out there in that heat than I did. I was there entered in the 50k. Was hoping for a good training run as I haven't been running long runs in a while. Well I started the 2 nd loop hoping to get in at least a 30k but it wasn't to be. I started out and got to the waterfalls and turned back to the start/finish. I just felt so bad that I knew it wasn't going to get better, so I turned back. I knew that the trail going around Mugu Peak was going to be tough for me. I have run those trails the last 8 years in an event that's held in February. Actually a lady who just had a small water bottle turned back with me.
Congrats on your 30k finish.
Chris
P. S. reading your link I see where you are going to run the High Desert 50k. I am the past RD, 15 years. This year I'm sorta the Co-RD as I am helping the new RD transition for this years events. You will have a blast at the High Desert event. It's not called the friendliest race for nothing.

Hi Chris,
I think I saw you on the course. You were sitting on a rock, and you said it wasn't a good day for you. Then you told me to make sure I stayed well hydrated. We wished each other luck and I went on.
As for the High Desert, I ran it last year and had a blast! It was my PR, too. I love the clay medal and the goodie bag was awesome. Of course I'm coming back this year, and taking a couple of friends, too.
Take care!

Hi Nattie. Yes that was me hoping to cool off. Never did get cooled off or felt better. Good to hear you are coming back to Ridgecrest and with some friends.
See you in a few,
Chris
