The Fat Tire Trail Challenge will be highlighting some of the new trails constructed on "M" Hill aka Cowboy Hill. The trail course is challenging for runners yet hiker friendly – come check out some of the wonderful trails here in Rapid City! The course will be marked and will change year to year to take advantage of the many trails on the Hill. Runs will generally be 3 – 4 miles in distance.

The first trail run in an upcoming trail series in the Black Hills in 2009!
The Black Hills Runners Club presents its inaugural Trail Running Series, set in the Black Hills of SD and Bear Lodge Mt. of WY.
The Black Hills Trail Series emphasizes personal achievement and the joy of exercise in the outdoors in a relaxed and fun setting. We will clearly mark the trails, record all finish times, and post the results on our web site. We'll award points in Men/Women Divisions, with two age groups: Open Division, 39 and under; and Masters Division, 40 and older. We will total all of the points and present awards at the end of the series in November. We will not present awards for each individual race, however, we will usually provide a few prizes for noteworthy runs, or just for showing up and having your name drawn at random.
