The course starts in Harvey West Park and follows an out-and-back through Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. 21K runners have an out-and-back, 29K runners the same with an additional loop, and 50K runners do two out-and-backs with the loop. Moderate elevation gain and loss, combined with varied flora (both Coastal Redwoods and chaparral), views and a river crossing for all distances over 10K make this a good race for all levels of trail runners.
