Festival 542/RUN 542

A picturesque 8.5 mile trail run through the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie Forest. Starting at the White Salmon Base Area (el. 3500ft), under the magnificent glaciers of Mt. Shuksan, the course climbs 6 separate and challenging ascents, laced with 5 descents, and tops out at Artist Point (el. 5140ft.) with 360 degree views of Baker and Shuksan. Recreational and competitve divisions offered. Trail surface TBD closer to event day. Surface type may be of combo packed gravel with some snow.

Details
RUN 542 is one event during the Festival 542 weekend. RUN 542 is on Saturday, September 8, and also on Saturday is a cyclocross race, CROSS 542. CROSS 542 is super-sweet cross course that weaves you through the Black Mountain Forestry Museum in Maple Falls, WA.

Also, on Sunday is the RIDE 542-Mount Baker Hill Climb. RIDE 542 is a 24.5 mile road bike ride/race starting in Glacier, WA up the Mount Baker Highway (SR542) to Artist Point. The highway is shut down to traffic during the ride. There are 7 support stations equipped with food, hydration, live music, live plein-air art, and a Poker Ride fundraiser. Recreational and competitive options offered. After ride festivities include the awards ceremony, live music, vendors, food, and a beer garden. www.festival542.com
