The Muddy Marathon starts at 8:00AM. Four loops of the delightfully scenic quarter-marathon course, at least 2 water/aid points. There is a cut-off time for finishing of 2 hours per loop. Registration: $55, includes parking pass, finisher medal and BBQ for survivors, t-shirts for pre-registered runners. Marathon award ceremony ~3 PM after the BBQ. More marathon info--please read FAQs.
The Marathon Relay starts at 8:00 AM. This allows people to form 2 or 4 person teams to complete the marathon distance. The transition area is directly in front of the start finish area. Two water/aid points. Registration: $35 each or $120/team of 4, includes t-shirt for pre-registered runners and BBQ for survivors. Special award for youngest team (maximum age on team 19) Registration is $40/high school or younger team (every participant does not have to go to the same school) t-shirt extra ($13).
The Half-Marathon starts at 10:30 AM. Two loops of the delightfully scenic quarter-marathon course, at least 2 water/aid points. Registration: $40, t-shirts for pre-registered runners and BBQ for survivors. There is a cut-off time for finishing of 2 hours per loop. Half-marathon award ceremony ~2:30 PM.
The Quarter - Marathon starts at 12:00 PM. One loop of 6.55 miles (approximate, not USATF certified). There is a cut-off time for finishing of 2 hours. Registration: $30, includes t-shirt for pre-registered runners, free BBQ after. QM award ceremony ~2:00 PM.
The loop begins inside Craigmeur Recreation Complex, running through wooded paths, old ski trails and open fields. It then transitions through non-blazed trails into the woods to meet up with the Four Birds Trail. It follows this Trail up the ridge and for approximately 2 miles before switching over to another non-blazed path in a return route to Craigmeur. The course will be marked with flour, water based spray chalk, survey flags and live volunteers. 2 water/aid points, one approximately midway and at the end.
Registration begins 90 minutes before your start time: Marathon 6:30, HM 9:00, QM 10:30
There is race-day registration for all races, but does not include a shirt.
If you want a shirt send in your money early.
All races start and finish at the pavilion at the Craigmeur Recreation Complex. The loop is not USATF certified, but we measured it on 1/28/2009 and it is at least the distance we advertise.
This event happens rain or shine --be prepared for anything!
The park has toilets, phone, covered pavilion, picnic tables, kids' playground, plenty of parking.... Bring lawn chairs or blankets to relax after you're done running!
