The Backland

The Backland is the biggest last man standing trail race near the Texas and Oklahoma border. Runners have 1 hour to complete a 4.5 mile loop. Every hour the gun will go off to start the new loop. If you finish the loop in an hour, you wait for the gun to go off again before you continue. If you don't finish within 1 hour you're out. The last man (or woman) standing wins a $500 cash prize, a huge trophy, a six-pack of beer (rootbeer if under 21)
