Hello,

I am itching to try my first 50 mile race. I have only been a marathon runner thus far.
I am attracted to ultras because I am slow, 4:30 marathon on average. However I think I can keep going at a slightly slower pace using a walk run strategy and come in about 11 hours on a 50.

I am going to run the Sugarloaf Marathon this May 16th in Maine. I would love to give the Pineland Farm 50 trail run a shot this year it is on May 30th

MY QUESTION IS ...WHAT SHOULD I DO TRAINING AND TAPER WISE IN THE NEARLY 2 WEEKS BETWEEN THE TWO RACES???

I am thinking this,

Sunday May 16th marathon
Monday May 17 REST
Tues May 18 RUN 3 miles
Wed may 19th REST
Thurs May20th run 6 miles hills
Friday May 21th REST
Saturday May 22 run walk 35 miles
SUNDAY May 23 REST

MONDAY May 24th run 3 miles
Tuesday May 25 stretching walk 5 miles
Wednesday May 26 Easy 5 miles jog on rolling hills
Thursday May 27th REST
Friday May 29 strech and fuel up
Saturday May 30th Run walk the 50 miler

Thank in advance
Jamie
